Gait and Posture wants to thank Dominic Pérennou, who is going to step down as an Associate Editor due to an increasing involvement in his own journal and other commitments. We thank Dominic for a successful collaboration and stimulating discussions. We are now searching for a new Associate Editor for Gait and Posture.
The role of Associate Editor for Gait and Posture involves managing the review process for submitted manuscripts allocated to you, via the Publisher’s online submission and peer review system (training will be provided on the system). You will need to find suitable reviewers for manuscripts and track papers through the review process, overseeing reviewers’ comments and providing your own input. Furthermore you are responsible to make final decisions on acceptance/rejection of manuscripts. Any uncertainty in decision making (or other aspects of handling manuscripts) can be referred to the group of editors for consensus decision. The Editor-in-chief and the Deputy Editor are also available to provide support and advice. to the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor.
The Journal currently receives around 1200 submissions annually, and you would be expected to handle approximately 10-15% of those submissions.
From time to time, you will be invited to attend Editors’ meetings, which may take place on the phone or in person (typically held at affiliated society meetings), and lead Journal workshops at conferences.
Submissions allocated to you will usually be in your specialist area of research in neurological aspects of posture and balance. As well as expertise in that field, we would expect the successful candidate to have strong links with the ISPGR.
An enthusiasm for the Journal and a willingness to promote it among colleagues, as well as to submit your own work to it, would be valuable assets of the successful applicant.
This is a perfect opportunity to become an active part of this interdisciplinary journal and have an influence on its scientific content.
We look forward to receiving your application.
