The Balance Disorders Labs at OHSU and the Portland VA medical system are looking for expertise in analyzing and interpreting DTI and functional connectivity in patients with PD and control subjects. We have NIA and VA grants to study the relationships between frontal lobe connections with basal ganglia and brainstem posture/locomotor centers and postural deficits in both frontal gait disorders and idiopathic PD, with and without freezing of gait. We will also determine which postural, cognitive and circuitry impairments predict efficacy of cognitively-challenging mobility rehabilitation. Candidates must have experience and skill in brain imaging with publications as first author. Ideal candidates will also have background in motor control disorders in parkinsonism. The fellow will provide the interface between the Brain Imaging Laboratory of Dr. Damien Fair and the Balance Disorders Laboratory of Dr. Fay Horak. Send CV and letters of recommendation to:
