We are seeking a Research Engineer to support the conducting of NIH funded research in cognitive motor balance rehabilitation laboratory. The aim of our research is to develop effective training programs to help individuals improve their balance control and lower their risk of falls. As part of this team, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the experimental instrumentations, assist in data collection and data analysis, develop new algorithms and new systems, help mentor and support upcoming undergraduate and graduate students.
Responsibilities:
Experimental setup maintenance and development.
Algorithms and system development.
Data analysis toolkits development.
Programming for the data cleaning, data analysis, and data visualization.
Assist in study design and grant application.
Peer-review manuscript writing and submission.
Provide assistance as needed to other engineers and research staff.
Qualifications:
Hold a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Hand on experience in 3D motion data collection, force plates and treadmill system.
Have experience with IMU sensor, pressure sensor and accelerometer.
Expertise in statistics.
Expertise in kinematic/kinetic data analysis and visualization using MATLAB and Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have experience with computer vision techniques.
Have knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology.
Have experience with Machine Learning to solve complex data problems.
Have knowledge of Python, Java, or Javascript.
