- Bus transportation between the conference sites in Montreal and Burlington will be provided at cost.
Goal ::
The goal of this symposium is to bring together an international and interdisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians and trainees interested in identifying and bridging the gap between basic and clinical research, and finding new ways to assess and improve balance and locomotor functions after an injury to the central nervous system.
Emphasis ::
The emphasis will be on the cortical and spinal control of posture and locomotion, and on new rehabilitation technologies that are shown to be efficacious in improving function.
Conference Objectives
- Provide a forum for an international and interdisciplinary exchange for bridging the gap between basic and clinical research in the area of balance and locomotor rehabilitation.
- Create opportunities for networking on current research, clinical programs, and service delivery in the area of balance and locomotor rehabilitation.
- Explore diverse and innovative ways of translating research findings into clinical practice.
- Find new ways to assess and improve balance and locomotor functions after an injury to the central nervous system.
- Emphasize cortical and spinal control of posture and locomotion, and on new rehabilitation technologies that are shown to be effective in improving function.
