Application Information

To be considered for an award, applicants must indicate so within the online abstract submission process.

The following awards are available for application to students and young scientists only.

ISPGR Promising Young Scientist Award

The Promising Young Scientist Award acknowledges those who have performed superior research in Posture and/or Gait early in their career. The awardee receives a certificate and the honour of giving a plenary presentation at the Joint World Congress of ISPGR and Gait & Mental Function.

Requirements

To be eligible for the award, a candidate must:

  • be an ISPGR member in good standing,
  • be no more than six years post PhD degree, and
  • submit all required supporting documentation listed below before the submission deadline.

Supporting Documentation

If you choose to apply for this award, you must submit the following documentation to the Congress Secretariat - ispgr@ispgr.org - prior to January 15, 2012:

  • your full curriculum vitae,
  • up to three 1st author papers (pdf format), and
  • an interpretative summary (one 8" x 11" page limit) describing your research contribution to the field of Posture and Gait.

The award winner will be announced no later than April 1, 2012.

Research and Innovation Award in memory of Aftab Patla

Sponsored, once again, by Northern Digital, Inc. the congress will offer two student poster presentation awards in honour of Dr. Aftab Patla. One award will be for basic science and one for clinical science. Recipients will be chosen from a panel of researchers based on several criteria including:

  • creativity and originality of research
  • clarity of presentation
  • level of understanding

The award winner will be announced at the Congress.
